Please help free human rights defender Abdulhadi AlKhawaja. He is a prominent human rights defender that was brutally abducted by the Bahraini monarchy and given a life sentence in a military sham trial. He has been engaged in a hunger strike for over 40 days, protesting his sentence and his life is in serious danger.
Abdulhadi Alkhawaja was brutally abducted and handed a life sentence. The Bahraini police beat him unconscious in front of his family and then tortured him in detention, fracturing his face. They continued to beat him in detention, despite his wounds, and he has written an urgent appeal for decent medical care.
My father was grabbed by the neck, dragged down a flight of stairs and then beaten unconscious in front of me. He never raised his hand to resist them, and the only words he said were “I can’t breathe”. Even after he was unconscious the masked men kept kicking and beating him while cursing and saying that they were going to kill him.

Due to the severe beating I received upon my arrest by security forces on the 9th of April I had to undergo surgeries in the Military Hospital (BDF). In which I had to have stitches for two wounds above my left eye and I had to have surgery for four fractures in my cheek bone and jaw on the left side of my face.
